INTENSIVE, INTERNATIONAL PHD-COURSE ON “THE TRANSFORMATIVE MUSEUM”

Ph.d.-students are invited to this one-day course offering a venue to meet with some of the main conference speakers, make a project presentation based on a written paper, and participate in discussions on the conference topics.

Aim of the course
To give PhD-students and young scholars in-depth insight into key theoretical and methodological approaches to studying evolving and transmuting museum practices, be they onsite or online, user-centred or organisational in nature.
Course structure
The course will mix brief tutor addresses, student presentations based on written papers and individual tutorials.
Guideline for presenters
If you want to make an oral presentation, please submit a 3.500 word paper highlighting the original theoretical or empirical contribution.
Please include a cover sheet with the presentation title, the names of all authors, and contact information for the submitter. The title and word count should appear on the following page. Please upload your word document to this site (submitting a proposal).
Please note that course presentations cannot double as conference papers.
Participants
The course is open to all PhD-students with projects relevant to the course theme.

Participation inc. paper presentation: 2 ECTS
Participation exc. paper presentation: 0,5 ECTS
Deadlines
Latest registration 30 March 2012 (the number of participants is limited to 25 on a first-come, first-served basis).
Submission of paper 27 April 2012.
Registration fee
110,00 EURO. The fee includes text package, lunch and refreshments, but not transport.
Special conference offer
PhD-students, registering for the PhD-course, are invited to participate at a reduced rate in the international conference “The transformative museum” 23-25 May 2012 also located at Roskilde University.
The reduced fee for both phd-course and conference is 325 EUR.
